Bullheaded

This young bison bull is feeling exactly the way I was feeling when I started painting him, stubborn and a maybe a little cranky. I feel like he is looking at me saying nothing but “What are you looking at?”  I saw him in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. I really enjoy all the rugged textures of this bull as he is losing his winter coat. This painting makes me feel his angst, as if he was a teenage human.
