Snackin’ at Slemmen

This red squirrel on a burr oak tree is my completed demonstration painting from my week-long artist residency at Lake Metigoshe State Park.  The squirrel was my companion during a visit to the park in late May. He lived right outside of the Slemmen cabin near Lake McDonald and was a lot of fun to watch during my visit.  My artist residency was sponsored by the North Dakota Council on the Arts and the North Dakota State Parks and Recreation Department.
