This artwork was produced under the Artist-in-Residency Program with North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department and North Dakota Council on the Arts. During a visit to Lake Metigoshe State Park, these pelicans were enjoying the sunshine. I was lucky enough to get to see them while hiking the Eagle Loop at the north end of the park. They became my subject for an artist residency in July of 2019.
